Lisburn information day takes place
Lisburn information event

We held the first of our series of information events in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, earlier this month (Friday 5th October).

Run in partnership with Advanced Bionics and supported by the Big Lottery Fund, the session was the first of five to take place this Autumn in various Trust areas across Northern Ireland.

The most recent event was held at Lisburn Civic Centre earlier this month.

We welcomed 12 people, who came along to find out more about the services Hearing Link has to offer, the wide range of equipment that can help manage hearing loss, cochlear implants and perhaps most importantly – the chance to network and offer each other peer support. Some in attendance had hearing loss themselves, others were family/friends of those affected.

As an organisation that champions accessibility for those with hearing loss, our sessions were accompanied by speech-to-text-reporting and a hearing loop.

Feedback from the event was very positive. One participant, Audrey Walker said: "Everyone was so helpful today, it was great to be able to talk to other people who understand hearing loss and to try out the assistive technology"

Our next information session will be at the Armagh City Hotel this Wednesday (24th October) from 1pm -4pm. A light lunch will be served at 1pm or attendees can drop in any time until 4pm.

For further information contact our Northern Ireland team or call/text 07578 521679.

Our wonderful Hearing Link volunteer May Wood joined our friends from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People for a fundraising afternoon this month. It was an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for the charity after it was chosen as a Charity Partner by Tesco Saltcoats.
